Log in as LDAP user2026/04/13 |
Configure the system to allow LDAP users to log in to the Proxmox system. This assumes that an LDAP server is running on your local network. |
| [1] | Select [Datacenter] in the left pane, and then click [Realms] in the right pane. |
| [2] | Click the [Add] button at the top and select [LDAP Server] from the menu. |
| [3] | Enter the minimum required LDAP server information. For the [Mode] field, if SSL/TLS is configured on LDAP server side, specify [STARTTLS] or [LDAPS]. |
| [4] | Once a new entry is registered, it will appear in the list. With the entry selected, click the [Sync] button at the top. |
| [5] | Select [Users and Groups] for [Scope] and click the [Sync] button. |
| [6] | If there are no connection issues, the user information in the Proxmox system will be updated. |
| [7] | User information can be viewed under [Datacenter] - [Users]. |
| [8] | On the login screen, specify the realm of the registered LDAP server in the [Realm] field, and log in using your LDAP username and password. |
| [9] | If you can log in successfully, the connection settings with the LDAP server are OK. Note that even if you log in to the management console with only normal user privileges, the operations you can perform are limited. However, by granting administrator privileges to the LDAP user for the Proxmox VE system, as described in [5] and later, you can perform a variety of management operations. |
