Add Storage (NFS)2026/04/16

 

Add storage to the Proxmox host.

In this example, we will mount an NFS shared area and add new storage.
we will use an NFS shared area provided by another server on the local network.

[1] Log in to the Proxmox VE management console as an administrator user, select [Datacenter] in the left pane, and click [Storage] in the right pane.
[2] Click the [Add] button at the top and select [NFS] from the menu.
[3] Enter any name in [ID], the hostname or IP address of the NFS server in [Server], and the directory that the NFS server is exporting to in [Export].
The [Content] field allows you to select how this area will be used, such as storing disk images or container images. Multiple selections are possible.
Other fields can be changed as needed, but in most cases, the default settings are no ploblem.
[4] Once the pool is created successfully, it will appear in the list.
[5] The storage you create will be available as usable storage space when creating virtual machines or containers.
