To add a network to a network zone, configure it as follows. |
| [1] | Log in to the Proxmox VE management console as an administrator user, select [Datacenter] in the left pane, and then click [SDN] - [VNets] in the right pane. |
| [3] | Click the [Create] button under [VNets] in the center. |
| [4] | Enter any network name in [Name], and select the zone where you want to create the network in [Zone]. Network names cannot be long, so you need to use a short name. After entering all the information, click the [Create] button. |
| [5] | Once the settings are added, they will appear in the list. Next, click the [Create] button under [Subnets] on the right. |
| [6] | Enter the subnet for the network you want to create. You can specify any private network separate from the host's network. In this example, the Proxmox host's network is [10.0.0.0/24], and we will add the [192.168.100.0/24] network to it. Make sure the [SNAT] option is checked. Next, go to the [DHCP Ranges] tab. |
| [7] | You can configure the range of IP addresses to be assigned by DHCP. Unless you have special requirements, you don't need to configure this. If you don't configure it, addresses other than the one specified for the gateway will be assigned. To configure it, click the [Add] button. |
| [8] | Specify the start and end addresses of the IP address to be assigned by DHCP, and then click the [Add] button. |
| [9] | Once a setting is added, it will appear in the list. To apply the setting, click [SDN] in the left menu. |
| [10] | Click the [Apply] button at the top to apply the settings. |
| [11] | Next, click [Firewall] in the left menu. |
| [12] | Click the [Add] button at the top. |
| [13] | In the [Interface] field, enter the name of the network you added, select [DHCPfwd] in the [Macro] field, and click the [Add] button. |
| [14] | Using a similar procedure, select [DNS] under the [Macro] section and add it. |
| [15] | Once the setting is added, it will appear in the list. This completes the network addition process. |
| [15] | The added network can be assigned to virtual machines or containers. |
| [16] | Virtual machines and containers to which you've assigned the added network will belong to a different NAT than the host's network. |
