Pure-FTPd Over SSL/TLS2013/05/10

Enable SSL/TLS on Pure-FTPd
[1] Configure for SSL/TLS
# set TLS connection required

echo "2" > /etc/pure-ftpd/conf/TLS
cd /etc/ssl/private

openssl req -x509 -nodes -newkey rsa:1024 -keyout /etc/ssl/private/pure-ftpd.pem -out /etc/ssl/private/pure-ftpd.pem

Generating a 1024 bit RSA private key
writing new private key to '/etc/ssl/private/pure-ftpd.pem'
You are about to be asked to enter information that will be incorporated
into your certificate request.
What you are about to enter is what is called a Distinguished Name or a DN.
There are quite a few fields but you can leave some blank
For some fields there will be a default value,
If you enter '.', the field will be left blank.
Country Name (2 letter code) [AU]:

State or Province Name (full name) [Some-State]:
# state

Locality Name (eg, city) []:
# city

Organization Name (eg, company) [Internet Widgits Pty Ltd]:
# company

Organizational Unit Name (eg, section) []:
Server World

Common Name (eg, YOUR name) []:
# server's FQDN

Email Address []:
# email address
chmod 400 pure-ftpd.pem

/etc/init.d/pure-ftpd restart

Restarting ftp server: Running: /usr/sbin/pure-ftpd -l pam -E -A -8 UTF-8 -B -O clf:/var/log/pure-ftpd/transfer.log -u 1000 -4 -Y 2 -B
[2] Configure on client PC. Start WinSCP and select "TLS Explicit Encryption" on session info like follows.
[3] Following waring is shown because certificate is originally created, but it's no ploblem. Go next.
[4] Input your password.
[5] Just connected.
