Initial Settings : Configure APT Sources2021/08/17

 
Configure APT Sources that are used when running [apt] command.
[1] If you installed Debian from DVD media, DVD was set as main source, however if it's not necessary anymore, change APT source settings.
root@dlp:~#
vi /etc/apt/sources.list
# comment out DVD source and add network source

#
deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 11.0.0 _Bullseye_ - Official amd64 DVD Binary-1 20210814-10:04]/ bullseye contrib main
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian/ bullseye main contrib
# if comment outed

# uncomment it to enable [security] source

deb http://security.debian.org/debian-security bullseye-security main contrib
# if comment outed

# uncomment it to enable [updates] source

deb http://deb.debian.org/debian/ bullseye-updates main contrib
[2] Add Backports source.

vi /etc/apt/sources.list
# add to the end

deb http://deb.debian.org/debian/ bullseye-backports main contrib
[3] After changing APT source settings, update source lists.

apt update
