OpenStack Epoxy : Configure Nova #32025/05/21

Install OpenStack Compute Service (Nova).

This example is based on the environment like follows.
If you'd like to install Nova Compute on another Node, refer to here.

[1]	Install KVM HyperVisor on Compute Node Host, refer to here. It's unnecessary to set Bridge networking on the section [2] of the link.
[2]	Install Nova Compute.

# install from Epoxy, EPEL, CRB

[root@dlp ~(keystone)]#

dnf --enablerepo=centos-openstack-epoxy,epel,crb -y install openstack-nova-compute

[3]	In addition to basic settings of Nova, add following settings.

[root@dlp ~(keystone)]#

vi /etc/nova/nova.conf

# add into the [DEFAULT] section
compute_driver = libvirt.LibvirtDriver

# add into the [vnc] section
# IP address compute instances listen
[vnc]
enabled = True
server_listen = 10.0.0.30
server_proxyclient_address = 10.0.0.30
novncproxy_host = 127.0.0.1
novncproxy_port = 6080
novncproxy_base_url = https://dlp.srv.world:6080/vnc_auto.html

# add follows
[libvirt]
hw_machine_type=x86_64=pc-q35-rhel9.4.0

[4]	If SELinux is enabled, change policy.

[root@dlp ~(keystone)]#

dnf --enablerepo=centos-openstack-epoxy -y install openstack-selinux

[5]	If Firewalld is running, allow ports for services.

[root@dlp ~(keystone)]#

firewall-cmd --add-port=5900-5999/tcp

success
[root@dlp ~(keystone)]#

firewall-cmd --runtime-to-permanent

success

[6]	Start Nova Compute.

[root@dlp ~(keystone)]#

systemctl enable --now openstack-nova-compute

# discover Compute Node

[root@dlp ~(keystone)]#

su -s /bin/bash nova -c "nova-manage cell_v2 discover_hosts"

# show status

[root@dlp ~(keystone)]#
