OpenStack Liberty : Configure Ceilometer#32015/11/19

 
Configure OpenStack Metering Service (Ceilometer).
This example shows to configure Metering Services on the existing environment like follows.

Configure Ceilometer Compute on Compute Node on this section.
[1] Install Ceilometer Compute and so on.
# install from Liberty, EPEL

[root@node01 ~]#
yum --enablerepo=centos-openstack-liberty,epel -y install openstack-ceilometer-compute python-ceilometer python-ceilometerclient
[2] Configure Ceilometer Compute.
[root@node01 ~]#
mv /etc/ceilometer/ceilometer.conf /etc/ceilometer/ceilometer.conf.org

[root@node01 ~]#
vi /etc/ceilometer/ceilometer.conf
# create new

[DEFAULT]
rpc_backend = rabbit
# RabbitMQ connection info

[oslo_messaging_rabbit]
rabbit_host = 10.0.0.30
rabbit_port = 5672
rabbit_userid = guest
rabbit_password = password
# Keystone auth info

[keystone_authtoken]
auth_uri = http://10.0.0.30:5000
auth_url = http://10.0.0.30:35357
auth_plugin = password
project_domain_id = default
user_domain_id = default
project_name = service
username = ceilometer
password = servicepassword
# Ceilometer auth info

[service_credentials]

[root@node01 ~]#
chgrp ceilometer /etc/ceilometer/ceilometer.conf

[root@node01 ~]#
chmod 640 /etc/ceilometer/ceilometer.conf

[root@node01 ~]#
systemctl start openstack-ceilometer-compute

[root@node01 ~]#
systemctl enable openstack-ceilometer-compute

[3] Configure Nova Compute.
[root@node01 ~]#
vi /etc/nova/nova.conf
# add follows in the "[DEFAULT]" section

instance_usage_audit = True
instance_usage_audit_period = hour
notify_on_state_change = vm_and_task_state
notification_driver = messagingv2
[root@node01 ~]#
systemctl restart openstack-nova-compute
